COVID‑19 Billing Update

In March, The Hartford suspended late fees and cancellations for non-payment until May 31, 2020. With that grace period coming to an end soon in most states, we’re prepared to work with you and your customers who continue to need assistance, with options for their individual circumstances. As always, we will continue to comply with directives issued by state departments of insurance.

NEW: ‘Billing Cancellation Hold In Place’ Indicator
We’re also giving you greater visibility into your direct-billed customers’ billing activity. We’ve added a new “Billing cancellation hold in place” indicator to the Billing Status Report in our Electronic Business Center (EBC). You’ll now see this indicator beside all accounts that are overdue but have a hold in place due to events like the virus or a natural disaster. This helps you identify and address potential problems, which could help boost retention.

See more reasons why the EBC should be your “go-to” for policy service and agency management activities.

Have Questions?
If you have questions about billing plans and options, please reach out to your underwriter. And for more about The Hartford’s response to the COVID‑19 crisis, visit our resource center at www.thehartford.com/coronavirus.
